VADC Emerging Choreographers award Application 2021

 

The Virginia Dance Coalition (VADC) is pleased to announce its 9th Annual Emerging Choreographer Award
All emerging choreographers who live, work or attend school in Virginia are eligible to apply.

Guidelines:

• The choreographer should not have formally presented more than three choreographic works to date.

• The choreography can be of any dance genre, but the length of the piece is limited to between 3 and 8 minutes.

• The work should have been choreographed no earlier than January 1, 2020.

• The choreography will be adjudicated by a panel of VADC choreographers.

• The emerging choreographer who is selected will be invited to present her/his dance at the VADC 9th Formal Performance, January 24, 2021 at the Harris Theater - George Mason University. They will be awarded $300 at the Gala.

Audition application:

1. The application fee is $35, please pay via PayPal to virginiadancecoalition@gmail.com.

2. Upload a video of the work to be considered to YouTube or Vimeo or another online video service. Please show correct costuming and film the work straight on in its entirety. Include a link in the application form below. Do not email your video file to VADC.**Please ensure that there is no identifying information on your video link. Choreographers are adjudicated anonymously**
